the "Other" Data
Several data layers were used
in this project to identify, and provide context
for, the State's land and buildings.
The Rhode
Island Geographic Information System is a state
consortium to share and ensure the quality of geographic
information about the state.
supplied
the following layers:
- Color digital
orthocorrected aerial photography from
2002 with a 1 foot pixel was used for most of
the state
- Black & white digital orthocorrected aerial photography from
1997 with ½ meter pixels, used in parts of the state where
the 2002 photography was not available
- Town Boundaries
- Airports
- Lakes and Rivers
- Major Roads (via Department of Transportation)
- All Roads
- E911 and TIGER roads for address-mathcing
(Note that E911 roads are used for street labels on map.)
Other data layers were supplied by large property
owners including:
