PUENTE, which means bridge in Spanish, is an independent non-profit real estate and economic development organization based in Olneyville. PUENTE's goal is to engage in the development process to benefit the community and its residents– environmentally, socially, and economically. PUENTE's current projects include the redevelopment of 60 Valley Street, the historic Providence Bleaching Dyeing and Calendering Co. Mill Complex. 60 Valley is being re-developed to support local entrepreneurs, including artists, and to bring important services and resources to the neighborhood.

Olneyville Housing Corporation- A non-profit organization dedicated to improving the Olneyville neighborhood of Providence, Rhode Island, through construction and rehabilitation of housing units for purchase by first-time homebuyers or for rental at affordable rates; various community and economic development initiatives; and collaboration with neighborhood residents and with other organizations.

Olneyville Square Labor History - Olneyville Square witnessed some of the early stirrings of the labor movement in America as workers mounted demonstrations against the deplorable working conditions at the mill. http://users.ids.net/~bobread/history.htm The Church of The Master [Baptist] The church of the Master came into being in 1949 as a result of the merger of the Plainfield Street Baptist Church and the Broadway Baptist Church. These two churches had served the Olneyville area for a combined period of over two hundred years. The Plainfield Street Baptist Church dated back to 1828 and the Broadway Baptist Church to 1865.

Olneyville Branch Library - The Olneyville Free Library began offering service to the residents of the Town of Johnston in 1875. This area of town was eventually annexed to the City of Providence. The Olneyville Free Library Association, incorporated in 1888, found a permanent home for the Library in Olneyville Square.
